Surface:
Concrete, concrete composite paving (firm surface), firm and level gravel / chippings.
Requirements:
If you have a concrete/paved surface, there should ideally be a slope of around 2-3% and a drain.
Description:
SAGUSTU drainage mats transport urine between the large pimples underneath, using countless small channels. Bedding to soak up the urine is no longer necessary. It's easy to remove any dung using a shovel and broom.
Less bedding:
Up to 90% less bedding – less mucking out and less expense. Not using bedding is good for horses with allergies!
Kind to joints / elastic:
The springy and cushioning effect of the covering protects the hoof mechanism. This is important for your horse because it means better circulation and less lameness. Worn patches and worn hooves become a thing of the past!
Non-slip:
Non-slip surface provides the highest level of safety, even when wet - your horse won't slip when he tries to stand up – no bare, hard concrete floor if bedding gets pushed aside when the horse stands up - the non-slip rubber stable matting allows your horse to move comfortably around his stable.

Fitting:
The drainage mats are easy to lay yourself. Start with the entrance door area at the front corner. When fitting, please remember that rubber expands when it heats up!
Cutting:
Adjust using e.g. an electric chainsaw or jigsaw (wood saw blade with medium teeth), flooring knife.
Maintenance:
From time to time you can remove a mat from the centre of the box, for example, and flush water under the rest of the mats.We recommend that you clean your stable, maybe even taking out all of the mats, several times a year. The large pimples mustn't be left standing in urine, so a smooth floor is necessary. Hoses are best for cleaning, but high pressure washers can also be used. Taking care of your rubber mats prevents odor build-up and improves the function of the mats. If you lay the mats on gravel/chips, liquids under the mats will be broken down biologically. |
